Heather Seibert
President

Heather Seibert, a native of Spotsylvania, Virginia, has always been a
trailblazer. Raised in a community where cannabis was frowned upon, she
found solace in its medicinal properties during her high school years.
However, societal norms led her to prescribed medications and heavy alcohol
consumption in her youth, a common coping mechanism among her peers.

Despite societal pressures, Heather pursued a fulfilling life, becoming a
devoted wife and mother of three wonderful boys. However, her journey was
marked by struggles with anxiety, rheumatoid arthritis, and endometriosis.
These ailments added layers of complexity to her life, making each day a
struggle.

It wasn’t until her college-aged son introduced her to cannabis edibles
that Heather found a holistic solution to her health challenges. With the
healing properties of cannabis, she experienced relief from her anxiety and
the chronic pain of rheumatoid arthritis and endometriosis. This newfound
relief became the cornerstone of her sobriety, leading her to wean herself
off alcohol and pharmaceuticals, turning to natural alternatives.

Today, Heather proudly stands three years sober, advocating for the use of
medical cannabis and other holistic approaches to wellness. Her journey
serves as a beacon of hope for those grappling with similar health
challenges, as she strives to destigmatize cannabis use and promote a more
holistic approach to health and well-being for individuals and communities
alike.

Sarah Frederick
Vice President

Born & raised in Stafford, Virginia and living in the general area my entire life, I’m Sarah Frederick – a dedicated wife, mother, small business owner, and like so many who use cannabis to treat and manage my medical conditions.

Not always was cannabis my pharmaceutical choice! In 2006, at the age of 32, I was diagnosed with Stage 2 Cervical cancer. At the suggestion of my oncologist, I pursued conventional treatments and underwent a hysterectomy. This year-long process was hard on my body. Coming out of this with many new health concerns caused by treatments and lots of new prescriptions! Fast forward to 2014, my cancer returns – now in my left lung. With the recommendation of my oncologist, I joined a clinical trial. After several weeks in the trial. My journey with cannabis began at a time when I felt lost and overwhelmed by the challenges life threw my way. Struggling with chronic pain and anxiety, I found myself searching for relief in various avenues, but nothing seemed to provide the solace I desperately sought. I met a wonderful Dr. who was cannabis friendly. Over the next 18 months my life changed. At first, I was hesitant. However, out of desperation for respite from my constant struggles, I decided to explore its therapeutic potential. Little did I know that this decision would mark a turning point in my life.

Cannabis became my ally, offering me a sanctuary from the storm of discomfort and unease that had plagued me for so long. Its gentle embrace provided not only relief from physical pain but also a sense of calm and clarity that had eluded me for years. With each puff, I felt the weight of my worries lift, allowing me to reclaim control over my mind and body.

I was able to regain daily life back with my family and felt alive again, but not without feeling like I had to keep this a secret from friends & family- having the fear of being judged for using “pot” …. it wasn’t a medication prescribed by doctors – it was an “illegal drug”….What would they think of me??

Then in 2020 my husband & I along with 2 wonderful friends started a company called Whole Greens VA. I could no longer have fears & hold this all in … my goal was to share my experience and journey with others. I just had to tell people how this wonderful plant changed my life. I was alive, I was healthy, and I wasn’t afraid any longer who knew!

Soon after in 2023 my dear friend, Heather, & I started a Non-Profit called Canna Moms of Spotsylvania. Our goal is to eliminate the stigma surrounding cannabis use – especially in women & mothers. Through Canna Moms of Spotsylvania, my hope is to educate our community about responsible and safe cannabis use. This plant is so amazing, the things it can do, the things it can make, and the lives it can change! It’s not just about smoking “pot” & getting high- it’s SO much more!!

My experience in using cannabis gave me a deep appreciation of the goals and life stories of the amazing women of Canna Moms. Breaking the stigma of the propaganda used against stoners is so important. I truly believe that the Canna Moms seek to improve the quality of life for many women suffering from various aliments and educate the public about safe practices. I pledge to work hard in the areas of Public Relations, Social Media and Marketing by implementing the website for broader use, canvasing the local area with literature and awareness, providing a positive culture surrounding cannabis on social media and continuing to be a role model in the plant based community. Each woman in Canna Moms has a story as to how cannabis has enriched their lives and I want to help make a safe space to heal with laughter and medicine for those that want to try.

Heidi Dodson
Treasurer

Born in Woodbridge, Virginia and raised in Stafford and living in the general area my entire life, I’m Heidi Dodson – a mother to 2 beautiful daughters, I also have 2 fur babies and I am about to be a grandma. I consume cannabis to treat medical conditions as well as to have fun with.

Growing up, I battled with severe anxiety and depression. Every day felt like a struggle, and traditional treatments didn’t seem to provide lasting relief. However, everything changed when I discovered cannabis.

At first, I was skeptical. Like many, I had been fed negative stereotypes about cannabis. But desperate for relief, I decided to give it a try. The effects were transformative. Suddenly, my mind felt clearer, and the weight of anxiety lifted from my shoulders. It was as if a fog had lifted, revealing a brighter, more manageable world.

With cannabis, I found relief not just from my mental health struggles, but also from physical ailments like chronic pain. Sleep, once elusive, became restful and rejuvenating. I was able to reclaim my life, pursuing passions and connecting with others in ways I never thought possible.

Cannabis didn’t just offer me relief; it gave me a new perspective on life. Through responsible use and education, I learned to appreciate its therapeutic benefits while mitigating potential risks. It empowered me to take control of my health and well-being, guiding me towards a path of healing and self-discovery.

Today, I am a vocal advocate for cannabis legalization and destigmatization. I’ve seen firsthand how this plant, when used responsibly, can change lives for the better. My journey with cannabis has been nothing short of transformative, and I’m grateful every day for the relief and clarity it has brought me.

Remember, everyone’s experience with cannabis is unique, and it’s essential to approach its use responsibly and in accordance with local laws and regulations. If you’re considering cannabis as a treatment option, I encourage you to consult with a healthcare professional to explore the best approach for your individual needs.

Jenn Burton
Director of Fundraising and Events

Born and raised in Spotsylvania, I’m Jenn Burton – a devoted wife and
mother of five, local realtor, and someone who, like many, faces the
challenges of anxiety, depression, and arthritic pain. However, my journey
hasn’t been defined by limitations but rather by resilience and a pursuit
of a fulfilling life.

For me, cannabis isn’t just a recreational substance; it’s a lifeline.
Amidst the chaos of daily life and the struggles with mental health and
physical pain, cannabis has been the key to unlocking a sense of normalcy
and vitality. It has empowered me to manage my conditions in a way that
aligns with my values and allows me to maintain agency over my health and
well-being.

Instead of relying on a cocktail of pharmaceutical pills or resorting to
self-medication with alcohol, cannabis offers me a holistic approach to
wellness. It provides relief from the symptoms that once threatened to
overwhelm me, allowing me to function, to thrive, and to pursue my passions.

As a local realtor, cannabis has given me the freedom to run my own
business with clarity and focus. It has enhanced my ability to connect with
clients, to navigate the intricacies of the industry, and to provide the
level of service and dedication that defines my work ethic.

Beyond my professional endeavors, cannabis has granted me the precious gift
of enjoying life to the fullest. Whether it’s spending quality time with my
family, pursuing hobbies, or simply savoring the beauty of everyday
moments, cannabis has become an integral part of my journey towards a
balanced and fulfilling existence.

Through my own experiences, I’ve come to understand the profound impact
that cannabis can have on one’s quality of life. It’s not just about
alleviating symptoms but about reclaiming autonomy, finding joy, and
embracing the fullness of what life has to offer.

Join me in celebrating the transformative power of cannabis – not just as a
substance, but as a catalyst for living life on our own terms, with
authenticity, purpose, and vitality.
